Figurative language is a manifestation of creative behavior in everyday communication (Carter, 2004).
We end our paper with a few remarks about the limitations of our study and indicative teaching implications that will make figurative language instruction in Greek as an L2 more fruitful.
At these levels, learners are expected to have developed abilities in order to work with figurative language, such as idioms and metaphors (Antonopoulou, Vogiatzidou, & Tsangalidis, 2013).
During the instructions which were given in Greek there was no mention of figurative language.
